About

Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB)

The AACB is the major professional society for practicing clinical biochemists in Australia and New Zealand and is a full member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and Asian and Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry (APFCB). Membership of the Association provides both professional and individual benefits. As a member of the AACB you will be kept informed of the latest news, views and developments in clinical biochemistry. You will be up to date with the latest developments in science, education and related political issues.

Domestically, the Association has a close realationship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) where we have around 100 members common to both societies. Similarly, we have close ties with the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) with approximately 95 members of this group also members of the AACB. We also have a strong working relationship with the RCPA Chemical Pathology QAP.

The AACB actively participates in the Pathology Associations Committee.

Internationally, we meet regularly with the Association for Clinical Biochemistry (ACB) and the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC). We have formal agreements of cooperation with both organisations.
